Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for our furry friends. This position requires heavy lifting and hands-on experience with animal care.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel and small farm animals
- Clean kennels, cages, and other animal living spaces
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Exercise and play with animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
- Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report to veterinary staff
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities

Qualifications:

- Previous experience handling dogs in a professional setting preferred
- Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and animal care techniques
- Ability to handle animals with patience, compassion, and confidence
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for pet owners
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

**Skills**:

- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and carry animals of various sizes, as well as bags of food or supplies.
- Dog handling: Experience in safely handling dogs of different breeds and temperaments.
- Veterinary: Basic knowledge of veterinary procedures, terminology, and medical treatments.
- Animal care: Understanding of animal behavior, nutrition, hygiene, and general care practices.
- Veterinary assistant/technician: Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations and assisting veterinarians during procedures.
- Kennel: Knowledge of kennel management practices including cleaning, feeding, exercise routines, and record keeping.
- Animal restraint: Ability to safely restrain animals during procedures or grooming sessions.
- Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service to pet owners.
- Pet sitting: Experience in providing care for pets in the absence of their owners.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
