**JOB SUMMARY**
The Accessibility Services Specialist provides accessibility evaluations, technical assistance, and advocacy to improve accessibility and disability inclusion in the Access to Independence service region. The Accessibility Services Specialist will also support assessment services provided for individuals.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB**
Conduct accessibility consultation and technical assistance for businesses and organizations.
- Conduct onsite evaluations, blueprint and design reviews, website reviews, and festival and event evaluations.
- Document the process using appropriate tools, taking accurate measurements, and clear pictures
- Conduct research and complete a thorough report outlining recommendations to address identified barriers
- Provide documentation on all activities into the data management system
Provide training and education on accessibility and disability inclusion for businesses and organizations
- Conduct single or multiple sessions in virtual or in-person settings.
- Develop or utilize materials consistent with agency efforts.
- Provide documentation on all activities into the data management system
Provide advocacy and outreach services
- Promote accessibility and disability inclusion throughout the agency service area
- Support businesses and organizations with understanding their responsibilities related to the ADA, or other local, state and federal statutes.
- Advocate with community members to address access and inclusion barriers.
- Participate in community committees and commissions, where appropriate.
- Participate in systems change advocacy, and support grassroots advocacy efforts
- Promote the Accessibility Services program in various ways, including events, meetings, and also through electronic efforts.

Assist with Independent Living services as necessary

Employ professional judgment and continue professional development
- Participate in Wisconsin Coalition of Independent Living Centers' WI Home Modification Assessments activities
- Participation in staff meetings, workgroups and committees
- Identify and participate in trainings to advance knowledge and skills
- Lead and/or participate in special agency projects
- Identify areas of interest and specialty to act as an agency resource
Other duties as assigned
Pay: $19.75 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
