**About this role**

As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and encouragement to individuals in the creation and completion of goals working to develop self-advocacy skills, independent living skills, educational goals, vocational goals, and Wellness Recovery Action Plans. Assist and mentor individuals in using public transportation all while maintaining own wellness and recovery in order to support individuals in services teaching relapse prevention through identification of triggers, early warning signs, and use of wellness tools This position requires travel throughout the assigned region.

- High School Diploma or equivalent with lived experienced related to mental health and/or substance abuse; AND
- Identified as being in recovery of a minimum of one (1) year; AND
- Successful completion of Certified Peer Support Training
- Valid PA driver’s license in good standing
- Satisfactory results of required pre-employment and subsequent background checks in accordance with PA State and Federal Law

Preferred but not required:

- Prior experience in working or volunteering with individuals with mental health or substance abuse diagnosis

As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will collaborate with the participant, their family, and their team for the purpose of developing a behavior support plan that must include positive practices and will not include restraint procedures (physical, chemical, or mechanical) as support strategies. Conduct comprehensive functional assessments and developing behavior support plans which utilize positive strategies to support the participant based on functional behavioral assessments. This position requires an extensive amount of travel throughout northeast and/or central Pennsylvania.
