**Job Summary**:
Data is continuously generated by hundreds of thousands of Customers and Cat machines that are operated around the globe. This is creating a gold mine of information to support our customers growth and deliver insights to Caterpillar teams. The Business Intelligence analyst lead Strategic and Tactical analytic projects focus on resolving business problems to unlock service growth potentials and customer value. Turning data into insights, customer value and growth is essential to Caterpillar industries and the Cat Digital organization.
As Business Intelligence Analyst, you will join a diverse team which focuses on discovering the future of aftermarket through the analytics of field data, thus ensuring that the best decisions are made by our internal partners to achieve our Service growth goals.
Comfortable working in challenging environments with a contagious passion for leveraging data analytics to inform decisions, you will play a key role in sales development project as well as part availability initiatives by communicating understandings and representing our team.
By joining the Insights team, your contributions will support futures Service sales supporting in all industries served by Caterpillar. You will be an integral part of our team of talented Insight’s analysts covering all Caterpillar industries working alongside of other data scientists and analysts in Cat Digital organization. You will gain experience in a vibrant and diverse multinational organization and develop your understanding of business practices and the data driven revolution.
**What You Will Do**:
- Independent contributor to multi-person analytics teams
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to handle basic issues independently
- Incumbents in this position will move to be a project leader on complex and highly visible projects
- Support the Business Analyst lead to achieve the annual Vertical target (in $)
- Typically, decisions will impact routine, low risk issues that may affect the project team, suppliers or internal customers
- Locating and obtaining data from various internal and external sources
- Rapidly iterations of new ideas and debug issues
- Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
**What You Will Have**:
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the business while showing empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need, persuading or defending a position.
- Ability to explain and simplify complex data to assist business partners and decision maker.
- Ability to put together detailed reports and visualizations based on requirement.
- Ability to develop checklists and utilize tools to ensure that information goes out error-free.
- Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.
- Technical background using datasets in SQL.
- Collects required business data through various data sources and applies data analysis techniques to establish, modify, and maintain business data structures
- Exposure to specific organizational tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Exposure to process automation on large datasets.
- Communicates with professionals to understand various requirements of product design.
- Tests and evaluates alternative means of development being considered for use.
- Assists in building a complex prototype of product.
- 2+ years of business insights and automation related experience preferred
- Knowledge with programming languages such as Python and R preferred
- Good statistical analysis skills desired
- Basic knowledge of Airflow and pipelines technologies
