As a leader in the MRO industry, we partner with customers to make sure they have the right maintenance and repair parts on hand when needed. We’re looking for an Entry-Level Business Intelligence Analyst in our Sales Operations department responsible developing, delivering and supporting information-driven business solutions using business intelligence tools and databases. The primary focus of this role will be related to Business Intelligence (BI), Data Visualization and Data Warehousing. Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two days working in the office and three days working remotely. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.  Responsibilities: Analyzes, designs, builds, and enhances BI interfaces using Power BI, integrating existing as well as new data from multiple sources to inform leadership, drive strategic and tactical decisions, solve complex business problems, anticipate problems, and fulfill business needs. Understands and develops business intelligence solution components, including MS Power BI data model creation, SQL development, database integration, ETL processes, and report and dashboard creation. Gathers intelligence data, collaborating with stakeholders to understand and translate their business needs into well-designed and validated BI solutions to improve outcomes and overall performance metrics. Develops ability to design and deliver accurate reports and insights that analyze business functions, key operations, and performance metrics. Assists in maintaining databases used for report creation, ad hoc data requests, and reporting processes, assisting with data warehouse enhancements and operations. Develops periodic analysis for key internal groups, creating efficient reporting practices and enhancing reporting capabilities, and ensuring reporting is performed in a timely manner. Assists in preparing ad hoc analysis for stakeholders, crafting & executing queries against multiple sources upon request. Communicates the status of project deliverables, issues, and risks proactively to management. Learns, develops and maintains knowledge of the capabilities and functions of BI solutions and related software. Uses this knowledge to recommend optimal solutions to business requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required, with a preference in Computer Science or Information Technology, and at least 6 months’ experience in BI development and understanding of database management systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Education leading to a BI Developer or Data Scientist with entry-level technical and modeling capabilities Understanding of relational databases with a background in data warehouse design and data mining, including Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Servers, Oracle Databases Some familiarity with BI technologies, data visualization tools, and cloud data platforms: SAP Business Objects, Webi, Analytics Cloud, Macros/VBA, SSMS, Azure Dev Ops, Power BI, Power Pivot, Python, Online Analytical Processing, Extract Transform Load, Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI) Technical skills in areas such as Excel, Access, and SQL Knowledge of data modeling concepts and experience in designing and implementing data models for applications and/or reporting Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and quantitative skills, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills Results-oriented; able to work independently and take initiative  Lawson Products is an Equal Opportunity Employer of women, minorities, protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
