**Primary Purpose**:

- The Child Nutrition Technology Specialist is responsible for handling all Child Nutrition technology-related issues throughout Lamar CISD.- The specialist will ensure that point-of-sale machines, menu boards, and other Child Nutrition-specific technologies are working as expected by performing preventative maintenance and quickly resolving issues and requests assigned to them via the technology support portal.- The specialist also partners with vendors on support escalations as well as ensures that access is provisioned to appropriate personnel and software is installed and updated.- RESPONSIBILITIES:
**Major Responsibilities and Duties**
- Investigate incident escalations regarding all Child Nutrition hardware and software.
- Quickly provision access to Child Nutrition systems with appropriate approval.
- Partner with vendors on support escalations, training, and warranty repairs and replacements.
- Perform diagnostics and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Ensure Child Nutrition software is updated with the appropriate software versions.
- Utilize remote support tools to monitor devices and provide support when possible.
- Assist staff using Child Nutrition hardware and software by providing training and support upon request.
- Provide professional and respectful support and service to campus and district personnel.
- Document issues, requests, and solutions via the approved ticketing system.
- Document solutions for customers and support staff via the approved knowledge base.
- Follow through with customer inquiries, requests, and concerns.
- Escalate complex and non-routine questions or requests to the appropriate level for resolution.
- Make recommendations for technology equipment and supplies.
- Maintain service parts and daily service records.
- Maintain inventory of equipment issued to schools.
- Ensure the integrity of the equipment and data stored on district computers by instructing users on proper equipment handling and establishing data backup procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the work area that could cause an accident. If you cannot correct the conditions, you must report them to the supervisor immediately.
- Know and practice the proper safety procedures in operating machinery and equipment as required for the job.
- Know and practice safety techniques in lifting, climbing, and performing other job duties.
- Complete required number of Professional Development hours for USDA and district requirements.
- Attendance at work is an essential function.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
- EXPERIENCE:
**Minimum Experience**:

- Experience working with the following items is necessary to be successful in this position:

- Windows devices
- Point of sale machines
- Digital signage/Menu boards
- Experience working with vendors on support escalations, training, and best practices
- QUALIFICATIONS:
**Minimum Education/Certification**:

- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent job-related training and 1+ years of work-related experience
- Valid Texas driver's license (appropriate type or class)
- Eligible for coverage under the district’s vehicle insurance program

**Special Knowledge/Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of PC-compatible computer hardware
- Strong knowledge of Windows Family of Operating Systems
- Able to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing
- OTHER INFORMATION:

- Uses test equipment, equipment without covers, mobile equipment cart, copy machine, computer, and audiovisual equipment.
