The START initiative is a comprehensive 16-week training program focused on electric vehicle service, tailored for individuals with prior automotive experience. Throughout this immersive experience, participants will enhance their technical skills and obtain certifications through a combination of classroom instruction, practical labs, and self-directed study. The program also emphasizes the development of interpersonal skills through collaborative repair activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week for training, including active involvement in service center shadowing for hands-on experience.
- Participate in instructor-led sessions to gain a thorough understanding of electric vehicle technology.
- Work collaboratively within a team during both laboratory and lecture settings.
- Prioritize safety by following established protocols consistently.
- Maintain organization through effective tooling management.
- Manage multiple tasks, organize workload, and achieve weekly learning objectives and deadlines.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with instructors.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Successful completion of all 16-week training sessions with a minimum GPA of 80% is required.
- Ability to report to designated training locations and local service centers.
- Willingness to relocate upon successful program completion and accept a position at a Tesla Service Center within 30 days of graduation.
- Capability to lift up to 60 pounds and follow both verbal and written instructions with precision.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and maintain a "safety first" mindset.
- Basic proficiency in the English language and familiarity with standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
