Overview:

**Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Occasional evening and weekend availability required for events scheduled outside of normal business hours.**

In this role, you will build and maintain relationships in the local community and connect Distribution Center employees to REI's guiding values through events and activities.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
How you will be successful:

- Establishes and maintains positive, business-focused relationships.
- Establishes local community relationships and volunteer opportunities.
- Supports local community organizations through time, resources, and products.
- Develops and maintains relationships with the local media.
- Coordinates opportunities with REI employees and the community.
- Plans programs for team educational workshops and engagement activities.
- Supports DC operations as the business need dictates.
- Helps with REI grant award process for non-profit organizations.
- Monitors assigned outreach budget.
- Coordinates with local/regional Retail stores.
- Builds peer relationships with DC Outreach Specialists.
- Maintains Distribution Center Campus Outreach resources.
- Manages project calendars and communicates plans and progress.
- Leverages business understanding and sound judgment in actions.
- Plans, sets realistic work goals, and establishes priorities.
- Supports REI's values and ideals.

Your qualities:

- 2+ years experience:

- Coordinating outdoor and community engagement programs. (outdoor education, volunteer events, outdoor recreational events, and activities)
- Building relationships with community partners.
- Event planning.
- 1+ years experience:

- Social media management.
- Managing budgets.
- Outdoor Programs Risk Management training.
- Identifies REI's customer service philosophy.
- Proven interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Valid driver's license and positive driving record.
- Skilled with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel to off-site locations about 1-2 times per week.
- Will work a flexible schedule where needed.

Base Pay Range: $20.70 - $23.00 per hour
