Hybrid Position - Front Office / Dental Assistant

We are looking for a highly polished and professional person to join the team in our modern Mission Hills endodontic office. We are looking for the following talents:

- Verbal skills w/the ability to adapt immediately to patient needs
- Typing skills of at least 60 WPM
- A college degree or associates degree is required
- Polished dress and presentation
- A team player who respects all members of the staff and is self-motivated to find ways to help with all aspects of patient care and office maintenance
- The ability to solve problems, control a patient or staff crisis, to think on your feet in a calm, logical, diplomatic yet authoritative way. This means excellent verbal skills and intuitive people skills that always display fairness and kindness.

The job would have the following requirements:

- Our staff works 4 ten-hour days a week. Flexibility is required at times for coverage.
- Answering phone to speak w/patients, referring offices, doctors and insurance personnel
- Scheduling and the ability to see the theory of a schedule and how to maximize patient care in the time slots available
- Dealing with all aspects of insurance (verifying coverage, following claims, insurance refunds, etc.)
- Presenting treatment plans and having the concern of the patient in mind for a caring and nurturing delivery
- Checking out patients and following up with their restorative care
- Computer skills to handle our dental software. We utilize Dentrix, on which we will train, but the computer skills should be trainable. The more knowledge of computer maintenance, the better
- Closing out the end of the day/week/month in Dentrix and QuickBooks
- Ordering of supplies, including office forms, cleaning, front office supplies and office maintenance supplies

This is a hybrid position which will include training in the back office as well. Our practice provides an excellent opportunity to develop your highest level of skills. We need a person who is self motivated to develop finely honed administrative as well as assisting techniques, accuracy of charting, all while maintaining excellent rapport with three doctors, the patients and a phenomenal staff of fine professionals. Kindness and a strong work ethic are very important.

The assistant skills we are seeking are as follows:

- Preparing operatories and assisting doctors.
- Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment.
- Taking digital x-rays (requires certification)
- Maintaining equipment and operatory supplies.
- Answering patient questions about treatment and easing patient concerns.
- Charting skills

This is a full-time position

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
