- PURPOSE OF JOB:
- To collect, accession and process specimens according to policy, under the direction and supervision of the Laboratory.- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- 40% 1. Collects appropriate blood specimens according to Specimen Collection Manual and Reference
- Laboratory Manuals.
- 40% 2. Accessions all specimens and resolves problems connected with test orders.
- 10% 3. Provides quality customer service.
- 5% 4. Cross trains in other non-phlebotomy skills to help out in the Laboratory. Goes to Outreach
- Facilities to collect or pick up Laboratory specimens
- 5% 5. Promotes patient safety by compliance with Organizational/Departmental policies and procedures as well as all regulatory agencies.
**Job Qualifications**:
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent- B. Experience: Phlebotomy experience preferred
- C. Other Skills: Must have driver's license, vehicle in good operating condition and proof of adequate automobile insurance, BLS Certification required, excellent interpersonal and team building skills
