Job Description:
  • PURPOSE OF JOB :
Processes outpatient referrals, greets and assists customers and general office clerical duties necessary to support the efficient operation of the Laboratory.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
70% 1. Processes patient information and patient specific needs at the reception desk and works with

registration when assistance is needed.

20% 2. Calls STATS and works with physician offices for proper test ordering.

5% 3. Assists Phlebotomists as needed and assists in orientation and training of staff.

5% 4. Promotes patient safety by compliance with Organizational/Departmental policies and

procedures.

Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior office experience in medical field preferred.
  • Other Skills: Medical terminology background helpful. Computer friendly. Good communication skills. Able to work under pressure.
