**ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION**
The Upper Occoquan Service Authority (UOSA) is a regional water reclamation plant serving four jurisdictions (Fairfax County, Prince William County, City of Manassas, and City of Manassas Park).

Effectively completes the work of the Accounting Technician III position along with the following:
- Assists in reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts, which includes reconciling Accounts Payable to the General Ledger at the end of each month.
- Prepares and mails forms to vendors for all 1099 reportable transactions and submits associated tax forms to the Internal Revenue Service.
- Assists Procurement Card Administrator with monthly review, batch and import process.
- Prepares year-end audit schedules/reports and performs other support functions in preparation for the annual audit.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
**Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:
**Acceptable Education, Training & Experience**:
Graduation from high school or GED along with 2-5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable are required, or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable.
**Additional Requirements**:
Experience with computers, accounting software, and related UOSA-provided software packages such as Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook) is desired. Possession of a vehicle operator's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.

The work is performed under instructional supervision and training. The Accounting Technician III performs tasks relating to Accounts Payable. Tasks are more than average difficulty involving a large number of vendors and contractors, which involves the use of a computer-based accounting system including spreadsheets. Additionally, some assignments include support duties that are carried out using initiative and good judgment.
**Examples of Work**: (Illustrative Only)
- Works with vendors and contractors to research Accounts Payable issues.
- Invoice matching, general ledger account coding and vouchering.
- Processes checks to vendors/suppliers on a weekly basis upon obtaining proper authorizations.
- Monitors past due invoices and maintains filing system weekly.
- Other Accounts Payable duties as required.
- Performs support tasks as required, including participation as member of the Finance Division Administration Team.
**Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

Pay: $41,500.00 - $76,000.00 per year
