**Responsibilities for the Payroll Clerk**:

- Maintain all employee files and payroll registers, ensuring the confidentiality of all records and transactions.
- Analyze time cards for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures, and ensuring that only active employees with authorized time cards are paid and that terminated employees are not paid after their termination date.
- Calculate and process all incentives, bonuses, and commissions.
- Process new hires, changes, terminations and miscellaneous Change of Status information.
- Process court ordered and Massachusetts Department of Revenue / IRS payroll deductions and prepare check requests for timely payments.
- Process and verify employee expense forms for reimbursement.
- Prepare and maintain payroll journal entries.
- Process requests for wage and salary information and provide information to Supervisor for distribution to department managers as requested.
- Provide back-up coverage when necessary.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- 40 Hours per week - 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with ½ hour lunch.

**Qualifications for the Payroll Clerk**:

- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required and 1-3 years of work experience preferred.
- Previous ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise and Excel is preferred.
- Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
- Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with employees regarding their issues and concerns.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
