**Job Overview**

**Summary**

Processes and maintains records of transactions and provides customer service for the Accident Management department by performing the following duties.

**Primary Duties**

Investigate claims against insurance or other companies and individuals for property loss or damages and attempts to settle with claimant(s). Additionally, the position is also responsible for coordinating car rental arrangements.

1. Set up initial loss notices with the driver and provide instruction

2. Coordinate short-term car rental arrangements on accident claims

3. Ensures proper claim file documentation and reporting

4. Determine repair time allotments and required labor operations

5. Makes accurate repair/replacement decisions

7. Negotiates agreed price with shop and sets time-bound expected completion date per EMKAY standards

8. Review and assess the validity of all supplemental requests

9. Proactively provides customers with information regarding their vehicle’s cost of repair estimate and explains claims/repair process

10. Maintains accurate vehicle’s cost of repair estimate and explains claims/repair process

11. Negotiates advanced fees for tows, tear down, and storage on all vehicles that are determined to be a financial total loss at a repair facility or tow yard

12. Document cost savings from point-of-sale negotiation and invoice auditing

13. Provide extraordinary customer service to all parties involved in the claims process

14. Must be willing to work independently with mínimal supervision

15. Ability to listen effectively and communicate with all levels of staff

16. Must maintain regular and predictable attendance

17. Other duties as assigned by management.

**General Duties Responsibilities**

1. Responsible for assisting the overall department customer service effort by using a pleasant articulate telephone manner when answering and making telephone calls from and to customers, drivers, vendors, government agencies, and Emkay employees.

2. This position requires a team player to interact, research, and respond to requests for information and services, from personnel in other Emkay departments and offices, in the same timely and accurate manner as that given to outside customers.

3. To provide superior customer service, the employee must be a self-starter, a problem solver, and possess multitasking abilities to work in a fast-paced work environment.

4. Cross trains to perform duties in a backup role for other Accident Management department personnel and in turn will cross train other employees as a backup for other functions.

5. All correspondences must be Emkay compliant as outlined in our Marketing Guideline and posted on the intranet

6. Performs special projects and duties as assigned by the department supervisor and/or team lead.

**What We Need in Skills and Experience**

Minimum of aHigh School graduate or equivalent work experience.

Experience in using auto-estimating software

I-Car platinum is preferred, but not required

Prior automotive, fleet leasing, insurance claims experience, office and 1-2 years of customer service experience is a plus.

Superior knowledge and understanding of auto body repair techniques, terminology, and vehicle construction.

Must have excellent computer keyboarding skills and experience with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

This position requires good English speaking and reading skills. Foreign language skills are welcome

General business arithmetic skills are required: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of percentages and discounts.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
