*** Job Summary**:
***POSITION RESPONSIBILITY**:

**- **Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.**:

- ** Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.**:

- ** Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.**:

- ** Responds to Code Blue and implements life-saving measures, per ACLS protocol.**:

- ** Interprets EKG rhythm strips and evaluates 12-lead EKG’**:

- ** Monitors and titrates IV vasoactive, antiarrhythmic and other special drugs, as per physician order.**:

- ** Assesses patients in an on-going manner, per patient acuity.**:

- ** Assists physician with procedures, as needed (i.e., thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, and venous access devices).**:

- ** Assumes the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.**:

- ** Care of medical or surgical critical ill patient**:
***:**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:
**- ** 1-year ICU experience Required.**:

- ** Current Texas or compact state licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.**:

- ** Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.**:

- ** ACLS certification within six months of hire.**:

- ** CCRN certification within two years of hire preferred.**:

- ** NIHSS certification within three months of hire, unless currently certified then needs to be maintained every two years.**:

- ** 8 hours of acute stroke education annually.**:

- ** Associate Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred**:***
