**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer & Secretary, the Executive Vice President, Federal Government Affairs will lead the Company’s federal government relations strategy. They will be charged with protecting Comcast’s core business positions among stakeholders in the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, and key Administration officials. This executive will work internally and externally, maintaining and establishing critical relationships to fuel and amplify priorities in Washington, D.C. Serving as the manager of the Legislative Affairs and Regulatory teams, this Executive will closely coordinate with the Public Policy, External Affairs, Political and State and Local Government Affairs leadership in Washington, Philadelphia, and across the Comcast footprint. This Executive will engage with key HQ leadership to ensure clarity on business priorities and should expect approximately 25% travel.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Significant presence on the Government Affairs Senior Leadership Team managing the Company’s Federal Government Affairs strategy.
- Manages Legislative Affairs and Regulatory teams in the Washington, D.C. office.
- Collaborates with other company stakeholders (including State and Local Government Affairs) to drive strategic alignment on messaging, resourcing, and investments on key issues as appropriate.
- Serves as a public presence for Comcast in Washington, D.C. and on Capitol Hill, FCC, and other relevant regulatory agencies.
- Constantly analyzes and monitors legislation and political activities relating to issues that may impact Comcast in crucial business areas.
- Works with industry trade associations and non-profit organizations to advance common legislative and policy objectives when appropriate.
Additional criteria and qualifications include:
- Recent substantial service in senior position(s) on Capitol Hill and/or Administration.
- Experience as a registered lobbyist.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters, J.D., or appropriate experience preferred.
- Proven track record building and maintaining strong relationships on Capitol Hill, with the Executive Branch, and with significant advocacy groups and thought leaders.
- Experience leveraging PR, grassroots campaigns, and communications to support legislative actions.
- Experience in the telecommunications and technology or other regulated sectors is preferred.
- Full understanding of compliance requirements and legislative/regulatory process and prepared to certify compliance regularly.
- Strong interest in cable, Internet, and media.
