Position Overview:
Chicago Hope Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated College and Career Counselor to join our team. As the College and Career Counselor, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to our students as they navigate their college and career paths. You will serve as a valuable resource, assisting our students in making informed decisions and achieving their academic and professional goals. This is a full-time position based in Chicago, Illinois.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Student Support: Provide personalized counseling and support to Chicago Hope Academy students, assisting them in their college and career exploration and decision-making processes.

3. Career Development: Offer career counseling services to students and alumni, helping them explore various career pathways, develop career goals, and create action plans for achieving those goals.

4. Networking and Alumni Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with alumni, colleges, employers, and community organizations to facilitate networking opportunities, internships, job shadowing, and mentorship programs for Chicago Hope Academy alumni.

5. Resource Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of college and career resources, scholarships, internships, and job opportunities that are relevant to Chicago Hope Academy alumni.

6. Alumni Tracking: Track the progress and outcomes of Chicago Hope Academy alumni, monitoring their college enrollment, graduation rates, employment status, and overall satisfaction with their college and career choices.

7. Workshops and Presentations: Organize and conduct workshops, presentations, and informational sessions for students and alumni on topics such as college admissions, financial literacy, resume writing, interviewing skills, and professional development.

8. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to alumni college and career outcomes to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for program improvement.

9. Collaboration: Collaborate with other school staff, including teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to student and alumni support and success.

Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

2. Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in college counseling, career counseling, or related fields. Experience working with high school or college-aged students is highly desirable.

3. Knowledge: Familiarity with college admissions processes, financial aid options, career development theories, and resources. Understanding of diverse career pathways and labor market trends.

4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build rapport with diverse individuals, including alumni, parents, college representatives, and employers.

5. Counseling Skills: Strong counseling and advising skills, including active listening, empathy, problem-solving, and goal-setting abilities.

6. Organization and Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.

8. Ethical Standards: Adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality guidelines in counseling and data management.

9. Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate alumni events, workshops, and college fairs.

Pay: $49,605.00 - $52,563.00 per year
