Area Director of Rooms is a leadership committee position with responsibilities focused on providing guidance and support to the Hotel Manager(s) and division colleagues. This includes overseeing the general operation of hotel functions and assisting guests as necessary, with the opportunity to act as a roving manager to accommodate scheduling.

This is a salaried position ranging from $106,800 - $165,600.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees hotel services including Front Desk operations, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, Spa, Recreation & Security.
- Maximizes room revenues & occupancy by analyzing daily status rates & makes adjustments accordingly.
- Manages hotel occupancy as needed.
- Analyzes rate variances, monitors credit reports & maintains close observation of daily house counts. Conducts weekly Divisions meetings, including monthly financial review with subordinate managers & senior hotel directors.
- Prepares revenue & occupancy forecasting & monitors labor expenses through schedule approval process.
- Responsible for short
- and long-term planning and the management of the Rooms operations in the Front and Back of the house.
- Develop and implement standards and operating procedures for all departments in division in partnership with department managers.
- Manage 3rd Party Valet Agreement for garage profitability, utilization and to ensure luxury levels of service are provided
- Lead the Resort as the “Service Champion.” Take a deep level of ownership in all guest experiences and follow-up on service and product defects in real-time.
- Campions Forbes standards across all divisions.
- Partner with Director of Commercial Services to action all feedback from online and social portals.
- Ensures that our hotels are meeting property and company financial and service goals.
- Month end reporting to hotel ownership for the entire Rooms division.
- Presenting to ownership/VP of Asset management for monthly P&L review.
- This list is not all-encompassing and that daily work tasks may and can be altered to meet business needs._

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Must have previous Director of Rooms experience.
- 6 years or more of progressive hotel Rooms experience (typically with Hyatt) with opening hotels, previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred.
- Service oriented style with professional presentations skills.
- Must have exposure and understanding of Forbes Travel Guide Service and Product Standards
- Must have exposure in leading rooms team at Forbes Four or Forbes Five Star rated property, preferably a resort destination.
- Strong Presentation Skills and experience in owner relations.
- At least 5 years of experience working in luxury hotels.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior role in a hotel rooms area.
- Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property
- Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line.
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Maintain communications with Corporate Staff as needed.
