We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our team The individual in this key position will be responsible for the design and implementation of an Agency-wide Safety program to identify, mitigate risks and improve workplace safety.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Works with Property Management, Facilities, and Occupational Health to develop an Agency wide safety program.
- Coordinates orders of safety gear and supplies for the workplace.
- Stays up to date on new state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety and security education, training, and awareness program
- Addresses workplace-related safety issues and accidents.
- Writes and revises Agency Safety Policy Manual.
- Conducts risk assessments.
- Develops risk-assessment tool (according to Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series), and conducts risk assessments across the organization.
- Conducts respiratory fit testing and safety orientation.
- Assists with the development and implementation of on-site emergency response plan.
- Responds to emergency incidents, documents incident details, disseminates reports to Senior Management and recommends corrective actions if necessary.
- Ensures Agency policies/procedures are current and incompliance with mandated programs relative to OSHA and State Boards of Health.
- Participates as an active member of the Health Risk Committee, Risk Management Committee, Safety Committee and other committees as assigned.
- Develop, monitor and report performance metrics that support continual process improvement.
- Works as the internal incident manager, ensuring that safety emergencies and injuries are properly addressed.
- Responsible for implementing and overseeing an emergency preparedness program, (hurricane, active shooter, etc.).

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of six years previous work experience in the health and safety field is required
- Management experience preferred
- Certified Safety Professional or similar licensure/certification preferred
- Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures, Federal, State and City requirements and OSHA
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

**Compensation**: Starting $60,000 annually. Additional compensation based on experience and education.

**Hours**: This is a full-time, salaried position.
