Lead Registered Behavior Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Lead Behavior Technician, you will provide direct support and implement behavioral therapy programs for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Your role will involve data collection, assisting with patient care, and working closely with a team of professionals to promote positive behavior change.
1. Instructional Notes in CR Goal Bank
- Create short-term goals in CR with instructional notes that are commonly used across clients with generic information for others to be able to modify/edit
- Look through clients on caseloads to look for common programming (e.g., Comment/Question; Answer/detail programming) and add programming into CR
- Read a research article and draft an instructional note with the procedure in CR
- Meet w. supervisor to review goals written up and set up a time to train the BCBAs on the protocol you researched and wrote up
- Build out goal bank with previously written goals and generics (e.g., SS #.#: Client will independently _)
2. Articles Database on CR/SharePoint
- Conduct research on common topics:
- Functional Analyses
- Stereotypy
- Automatically maintained behavior
- Staff training
- Social skills group
- Play skills
- Leisure
- Advanced social skills
- Job/Vocational training for individuals with intellectual disabilities
3. New-Client Learning Tree Setup
4. RBT Staff training agendas
- Put together agenda for RBT staff trainings; can build this out for several weeks/months in advance or on topics sorted by the task list
5. Overhaul audit on programming to determine technological aspect of notes (e.g., SCI 3.5 - no instructional note - add label for this).
- Talk with supervisor to determine clients to review
- Read through programming and run program
- Video self running program and send to supervisor to determine if this is how they wanted this program run and add that video to CentralReach so other staff could watch the video (must have parent sign-off for video consent)
6. Assisting with preparing/conducting assessments
- Records review - time and fill out worksheet (meet with supervisor to develop a worksheet for this)
- Draft up a datasheet based on assessment to test skills
- Gather materials for assessment
- Conduct assessment
- Preference assessments
- FBA components (indirect/direct assessment)
7. IOA on people who are training new-hires:
- Create a fidelity checklist on training
- Conduct fidelity checks via telehealth or in person
8. IOA on RBTs who are implementing treatment
- Create treatment fidelity checklist
9. Practice supervision tasks (must be approved/assigned)
- Non-billable supervision to get client’s case supervision into a higher range
- Do “bundled” service as described by ABA coding coalition (program review; mark programs as progressing, needs modification, etc.)
- Conduct non-billable parent trainings (must be approved/assigned) or bill 97153 while parents overlap to learn on-the-floor skills
- Overlap with client - collect ABC data
- Overlap with staff - collect supervision form (staff performance)
10. Help Create treatment reports based on ABLLS and VB -Mapp updates
11. Help with scheduling on our excel and through transfer of schedule on central reach
*If placed on direct therapy, the individual can do the following unrestricted activities to support the BCBA*:
- Run direct therapy while probing assessment skills during the direct service (assessment probes and filling out the assessment should not take up more than the direct therapy if billing 97153 per 15 minute unit. Probing skills for assessments should be interspersed.
- Video record themselves with the client running programs as written to add to the learning tree for training purposes
- Probe modifications to programs that are not making progress to determine what works/what doesn’t.
- Focus on specific skills to advance skill acquisition on those skills instead of running a few trials from the entire session (e.g., if motor imitation is slow progressing, focus on implementing this program and adjusting prompts to determine what works best throughout the session).
- Taking notes on modifications the BCBA should oversee in their next 97155
- Training other staff members (if they are not on with another client)
- Collect ABC data
