**SUMMARY**: To create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Teaches district-approved curriculum.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - in harmony with the goals—establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
**EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION**:
- Valid Arizona CTE teaching certificate.
- Hold a valid Arizona registered nurse license that is active and in good standing.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (**IVP**) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
**KNOWLEDGE OF**:
- Reading and interpreting general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
- Writing general correspondence and speak effectively with others.
- Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Principles and practices of program administration.
- Best practices, trends and emerging technologies.
- Principles and techniques of effective oral presentations.
- Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
- Specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment.
**SKILL IN**:
- Interpreting an assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms.

**ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
**Light Work**: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
**Working Conditions**: Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
