Work includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
- General Description_

CFP Team Leaders are responsible for serving as back-up managerial support for both departmental supervisors and directors. Team Leaders are expected to represent CFP Management in a professional and mature manner. Team Leaders will provide direction, instruction, and guidance to their assigned group of Team Members for the purpose of achieving a common goal. An effective leader will know his or her Team Member’s strengths, as well as areas of improvement. Team Leaders are responsible for the following:

- Keeping Department Director and/or other management apprised of personnel issues, absenteeism, workplace accidents, near misses, production issues, machine down-time, etc.
- Manage the flow of day-to-day operations during assigned shift
- Assisting with training and development
- Communicating clear instructions to all Team Members
- Listen to Team Member’s feedback and communicate updates to Departmental Director regarding the Team’s progress
- Monitoring Team Member’s performance to ensure the training they have been provided is being put to good use and determine if additional training is needed.
- Distribute necessary paperwork to appropriate personnel per the directive of the Departmental Director
- Completing necessary paperwork in regards to:

- Workplace accidents/injuries/near misses/property damage
- Personnel issues (as necessary per Department Director)
- Other paperwork as assigned per the directive of the Departmental Director
- Machining Team-Specific Job Responsibilities_
- Understand and enforce safe work practices as well as CFP’s Work & Safety Rules
- Understand and comply with written procedures for accidents
- Work with the department Manager and other Team Leads to establish production-based priorities
- Communicate with management on any issues or concerns that may occur during the shift
- Effectively keep personnel on task throughout the shift
- Ability to recognize issues with operations and make adjustments with manpower. _Example: moving an operator to another machine if there is an issue with the machine, or the quality of the parts coming from that machine._
- Ability to evaluate his/her team members, and report issues both positive and negative to the department manager.

CNC Setup/Machinist
- Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
- Blueprint reading is required.
- Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environments.
