Overview:
**Position Overview**:In this contract role, you will serve as a Faculty Instructor and Evaluator for a Distance Education Program (DEP) in the First Year Studies Program, Department of Distance Education (DDE), U.S. Army War College (USAWC). You will support the Distance Education Program courses that encompass online Core Courses and two summer Resident Courses. This will also include the evaluation of student performance in online discussion forums, appropriate experiential activities, papers and writing projects, and during resident seminar discussion. The work may include the development, instruction, and evaluation of a Regional Studies Assessment, an online elective, and an Advanced Studies seminar.

**Essential Roles and Responsibilities**:
The work will include development, instruction, and evaluation for the following:

- Provide instruction, assessment, and guidance to USAWC DEP students during an online and resident Orientation Program and / or Foundations Course
- Instruct, evaluate, monitor academic progress, and advise two seminars
- Evaluate/re-evaluate written requirements (papers) submitted/resubmitted
- Conduct and evaluate threaded discussions or role-playing simulations in one or more asynchronous online forums for their assigned seminar
- In-residence instruction and facilitation to one seminar according to curriculum requirements
- Preparation of Regional Studies course lesson plans and evaluation requirements for an assigned region

Experienced in the use of a Learning Management System (LMS) and knowledgeable in concepts of adult learning, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Seminar Discourse, Seminar Team Building, and Reflective Learning.
