- As an **Air/Ocean Import Coordinator**, you will be responsible for overseeing the importation of goods via air freight, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and coordinating the timely and efficient delivery of goods to their final destinations. You will work closely with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to ensure the smooth flow of imported goods.- Customs Compliance: ensure that all imported goods comply with customs regulations, including proper documentation and tariff classification.
- Documentation, prepare and review import documentation, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Freight Booking, coordinate the booking of airfreight shipments, select appropriate carriers, and negotiate rates to optimize cost and service.
- Communication, maintain regular communication with suppliers, customs authorities, and carriers to track shipments and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Customs Clearance, manage the customs clearance process, including filing necessary documents, paying duties and taxes, and facilitating inspections if required.
- Inventory Control, monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that goods are received and delivered on time.
- Customer Service: provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from clients and internal stakeholders regarding import shipments.
- Cost Control, monitor and control import-related costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Compliance with Regulations, stay updated on changes in import regulations and trade laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Reporting, preparing, and presenting regular reports on import activities, including shipment status, delays, and cost analysis.

**Qualifications**:

- Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Prior experience in air import coordination or a related role.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade laws.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for import documentation and tracking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

**Education and Experience**:

- Two or four years of experience with at least two years in overseeing the importation of goods via air/Ocean freight.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
