Purpose
Assists the head women's Rowing coach with coaching and recruiting of female student-athletes and in the administration, logistics, support staff, and business functions of the Women's Rowing program.
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate and direct all recruiting activities for interested PSAs, both junior and transfer recruits. Develop and implement a systematic plan for all recruiting that involves the entire staff.- Train and skill-instruct student-athletes. Report on progress, give feedback and encourage development.- Recruit prospective student-athletes. Evaluate potential for success. Provide recommendations to head coach. Fulfill public relations and community relations activities, oftentimes driving a UT vehicle to/from the event.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. Experience as a Student-Athlete or coach in a collegiate athletics environment. Professional demeanor and ability to project the image of the University of Texas and the Athletics Department with dignity and grace regardless of circumstances and environments. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enhance interaction with student-athletes, peers, alumni, administrative personnel, and the community. Demonstrated the ability to provide critical thinking and consultation to achieve positive outcomes. Demonstrated exceptional character traits in integrity and fairness. Current and working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Demonstrated commitment to The University of Texas Intercollegiate Athletics Core Values. This position is designated as a Responsible Employee, pursuant to Title IX and University policy. Preferred Qualifications
Successful experience as an assistant or head coach at an elite level or in a Division I collegiate athletics rowing program. Experience coaching NCAA championship-caliber student-athletes. Demonstrated success recruiting highly skilled student-athletes.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
