Basic Function:
The first job of the Lead Blaster or Lead Coater is to bring the job in on budget, with a happy customer who will recommend our company, and also your team. To participate in all activities related to the accomplishment of specific jobs. Must be able to perform all duties noted in the job description, attend all production and safety meetings, and adhere to all safety rules and common sense safe-working practices.

Organizational Relationships:

- Fill daily reports on job progress Lead Painters will help to supervise and train apprentices and lower level painters.
- Work with management to complete projects in a timely manner without sacrificing quality while maintaining good budget status.
- Assist management with estimating projects and product recommendations through vendors as well as organize project details.
- Goal oriented individual who is interested im a career and not a job and focused on assisting our team in growing and working towards moving into our management team.

Key

**Responsibilities**:

- Must understand project flow, keep good notes and seek clarity where necessary
- When error or flaws are found with a project they must work to be fixed immediately
- Must understand project budget and hit daily production targets set by Crew Lead or Operations manager.
- Must demonstrate consistent safe work habits.
- Must have good product knowledge of products in use and spray equipment.
- Clean and maintain all painting equipment on a daily basis, including brush, rollers, sprayers, pumps, learn how they operate, and proper set-up.
- Safely store and label all materials
- Read and understand work orders, the project scope, and safety instructions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Painters under them and Operations Manager.
- Must keep a clean appearance, organized and customer friendliness

Employment standards and Ability to
- Must be able perform all functions of the apprentice & painter: site prep, masking, surface prep & sand blasting and cleaning.
- Must teach these functions to new apprentices & painters.
- Must be proficient in advanced surface prep using dry or wet blasting equipment
- Must be proficient in brushing, rolling, and basic spraying and supervision of tasks with techs under them in a competent timely manner with the highest degree of craftsmanship and in accordance with BLAST 5:17 standards.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of job flow, execution, timelines, and project budgets.
- Must be able to teach the proper set-up, clean-up, and use of basic paint sprayers.
- Perform heavy physical labor, must be in good physical shape and be able to lift over 100lbs.
- Climb ladders, lifts (must not be afraid of heights)
- Carry a full 5-gallon container of paint or equivalent weight up and downstairs
- Wear and use respirators when required for particulates
- Bend and reach while preparing and painting surface for the entire work shift
- Follow all instructions from higher-level painters, project managers, and owner
- Work safely and use common sense safe-working practices.
- Learn quickly
- Maintain cooperative working relationships
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-workers.
- Work in inclement weather, hot, cold, and rain

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
