Medical Billing Rep - Bilingual (English/Spannish) Patient A/R

**Location**: Honor Health John C Lincoln Medical Campus, Phoenix, AZ
- **Individual is required to work onsite. This is not a remote/hybrid position.**_

**Type**: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8a - 4:30p

**General Position Summary**:

- Serve as a patient advocate with explanation/understanding of their billing, assistance with payments, Payment Plans, Financial Hardships, claim processing corrections identified on their billing statements, etc.
- Primary to answer inbound patient billing calls which include, but are not limited to, patient making a payment, answer questions about a statement, update insurances, etc.
- Primary to initiate outbound patient billing calls for patient AR functions which include, but are not limited to, checking on estates, duplicate checks received, patient paid direct by insurance, etc.
- Perform follow-up coverage checks for retro or updated insurance in various systems, including, but not limited to, Epic and AHCCCS.
- Manage the patient A/R cycle from assignment of patient responsibility to PIF or 3rd Party Collections utilizing Telcor RCM work queues.
- Coordinate between Telcor RCM and 3rd Party collections any patient inquiries, bankruptcy and deceased notifications, and other patient AR activities.
- Assist with denied claims relating to patient AR, including primary EOB requests, COB, termed, can’t be identified as our insured, and other patient A/R denials.
- Perform patient demographic intake to include researching and data entry for accurate, first-time claim generation.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
- Participates in department meetings and communications to maintain policy and procedure.
- Produces information by maintaining patient account records and correspondence as required; planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling PHI requests.
- Provides historical reference by developing and utilizing filing and retrieval systems, maintaining patient records; recording physician and patient encounters as necessary.
- Serves and protects the health care community and patients by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal law requirements to include the No Surprises Act, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.

Education & Experience:

- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; Additional industry related education/certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1+ years Medical Billing experience and/or education.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- General knowledge of the insurance industry, payers, and plan types.
- Knowledge with patient Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
- Knowledge of the No Surprises Act and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks; meet deadlines.
- Strong listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional attendance record.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Motivated to learn about and assist with all facets of the billing team and revenue cycle management.

Western and Pinnacle Pathology (WPA) is a growing laboratory seeking new team members to join our recently expanded operations in Central Phoenix. Phoenix, AZ has become a relocation and growth capital for its desert beauty and acclimate climate. Our new, modern laboratory comprises several thousand square feet with sprawling windows inviting in the great mountain views and sunshine.

WPA is a CAP-accredited private group pathology practice founded in 1990. Our main laboratory is located adjacent to HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center. The practice consists of four board certified anatomic and clinical pathologists serving the HonorHealth network, various outpatient radiology practices, and private physicians’ offices in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
