**Title**: Explore Program Manager**

**Function**:Supervise daily operations, employees, participants and services of OPARC’s Explore Program (OE).

**Essential Functions**:Program Development**
- Develop and implement lesson plans/activities and curriculum. Evaluation of practice and effectiveness.
- Train staff to identify and/or seek appropriate instructional strategies geared toward each individual’s needs and desires.
- Ensure participant Activity Records and tracking notes are completed on time, accurately and thoroughly to reflect day-to-day activity and individual goals. Ensure accurate and complete documentation including but not limited to progress notes, daily activity records, communication books, special incident reports, data collection/goal tracking, emergency drills, skills training and attendance.
- Develop effective participant training sites and coordinate with the Explore Supervisor to ensure appropriate and effective use of developed sites.
- Supervise the scheduling of daily program activities / outings / events - to ensure safety and established ongoing program services are effectively provided using appropriate community resources. Coordinate with and provide support to the Explore Supervisor.
- Develop and maintain required records and reports for the Outcome Management System. Assist with the development of the Outcomes Report.

**Supervisory**:

- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Explore staff and program effectiveness.
- Provide input toward annual budget reviews. Monitor established budget and program purchases. Accurately manage Community Access and Petty Cash funds.
- Interview prospective staff members; make recommendations for hire and/or termination of staff. Assist with initial orientation, required training and evaluation of staff assigned.
- Conduct and attend staff meetings / trainings as required or assigned. Document and maintain all training records.
- Oversee proper handling, maintenance and use of vehicles. Assign OPARC vehicles to coaches. Ensure all vehicles have required health and safety supplies at all times.

**Participant Services**:

- In coordination with the Explore Supervisor, ensure schedules, programming supplies and equipment needed for community outings and other activities are compiled daily. Maintain attendance and activity records. Ensure required program ratios are maintained daily.
- Ensure protocols for behavioral interventions and/or any Restricted Health Care plans are followed at all times. Report any suspected abuse immediately to the proper authorities as required by law and OPARC policy.
- Assist case managers in developing individual goals and objectives to include continual assessment and communication of strengths, challenges, and progress.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned

**Supervises**: Explore Supervisor and Community Coaches

**Supervised By**: Director of Business Services

**Requirements**:
B.A. in psychology, social work, or related human services field and a minimum of one year experience in field of developmental disabilities or comparable field. OR, high school diploma and equivalent of at least two years’ paid experience in the field of developmental disabilities or related field AND, at least one year of management / supervisory experience in the field of developmental disabilities or related field.

Possess a current CPR and First Aid certification, valid CA driver’s license with at least 2 years of verifiable driving experience and must have a clear driving record, proof of current vehicle insurance coverage, safe and reliable transportation, and willingness to drive OPARC participants

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. by self, and up to 150 lbs. with one other person, able to push wheelchair with participant up to one mile, stand up to 80% of the day, walk up to 80%, sit up to 80%, push up to 80%,

Bending and pulling required up to 50%, squat up to 25%, repetitive motion may be necessary up to 80% of the day,

use chemicals in accordance with manufacturer’s labeled instructions, tolerate being in a variety of environments and elements - inside and outside (without heat and air conditioning; cement floors, gardens, animals, etc.).

**Hours**: 7:30 - 4:00, Monday through Friday, includes a ½ hour uninterrupted and unpaid lunch
