**Job Summary**:
Central Intake is a department within the **Central Billing Office **(not within the clinic itself) that is responsible for intake-related administrative functions including, but not limited to, creation of accounts, **completion of primary and secondary insurance verifications (PIV), initial authorizations for therapy services from the insurance, additional authorizations for continuing treatment** (if appropriate) and credentialing-related tasks.

**Essential Responsibilities, as assigned**:

- Creates and builds patient accounts, places the initial evaluation appointments on the schedule, attaches appropriate documents in TS and updates the referral log
- Completes primary and secondary insurance and verifications (PIVs), enters all insurance information 2-3 days prior to the initial evaluation and ensures that account types match insurance types and attaches verified PIV upon completion
- Obtains initial evaluation authorizations and associated treatment authorizations for all insurance types including WC
- in order for the visits to be paid. Obtains continuing authorizations as assigned.
- Updates the patient account and informs clinic staff regarding authorization status.
- Follows up regarding pending authorization with MD office, adjuster or TPA
- Confirms that the insurance verified matches the information on the insurance cards attached in TS if available
- Ensures that insurance information obtained is linked to the correct claims address.
- Adds Referring Physicians in RT and updates patient accounts with physician information as directed
- Credentialing-related tasks
- Meets productivity requirements established for each function within the department
- Understands that our customers are both internal and external to the organization and that all staff is expected to uphold the Service Culture Theme and Standards
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
