Full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year (45 weeks)

Reports to: Niles High School Principal (or designee)

Niles Community Schools is looking for dynamic Assistant Principal/Instructional Leader. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community. The goal of the positiion is to use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote continuous improvement in student achievement, create a positive learning environment for staff and students, utilize effective internal and external communication, and manage personnel, fiscal, and operational resources.

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- A valid Michigan Administrator Certificate
- Master's degree or higher, preferably in Educational Leadership
- Five years successful experience as a classroom teacher
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Preferred:

- Proven leadership ability in school administration and secondary education evaluation and supervision
- Strong background in curriculum and instruction

**Performance Responsibilities (non-prioritized)**:

- Promote continuous improvement in student achievement
- Promote a positive learning environment
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Monitors standard operating procedures
- Assists principal in the coordination and supervision of functions related to the business nature of the school
- Assists the principal with curriculum, assessment and instruction, discpline, personnel, and security
