At the Crocodile, if you are willing to study, you will learn more than you would at culinary school
- and you will get paid to do it. Depending on your ability to learn and study, you will also be trained in:

- Cooking Classes
- Cold Buffet Arrangement (sandwiches, cheese trays, fruit displays, salads, desserts, gift baskets)
- Prepared From Scratch Hot Buffets (Mexican, Mediterranean, Chinese, Indian, Regional American, Latin, Italian, French, BBQ, Vegetarian, etc.)
- Knife Skills - we train and measure you for speed and accuracy Receiving/Ordering/Inventory
- 50 Different Soups, Sauces, Salsas
- Menu Writing & Recipe Development
- Off-Premise Catering Buffet Set Up
- Off-Premise Barbeques
- Event Planning/ Special Events/ Proposals
- Food Cost Management

You must be willing to take very specific instruction from the chef/ management team under pressure situations. Work schedule is flexible for the right person, and will depend on the skills of the person hired. Approximate hours 6am to 2pm on weekdays, or 530 am to 1230. This will likely be a part-time position, but full-time is also available for the right person.

**Here is what we need you to do...**
- 30% Hot Buffet Catering
- sauces, char-broiler, sauté, grill work, and soups
- 40% Cold Buffet/Prep
- building breakfast trays, sandwich displays, fruit, salads, cheese trays, trimming chicken, fast-paced food prep, etc.
- 20% Delivery

- but you get big tips on the road
- 10% Utility

Because we do things differently, we can do things that other restaurants can only dream of. For example, in the last 4 years, we have gone to Jamaica, Croatia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Thailand and Tuscany to do menu research and development. We have really nice cooking equipment, a big, clean air-conditioned kitchen and an extensive library.

We also have a 32 question chef test that covers food from all over the world, basic recipes and cooking procedures. We need people who have passion for the food. Successful applicant can quickly and efficiently prepare large volumes of homemade food with lots of color and strong flavor profiles (barbeque, salsas, soups, all kinds of salads, pasta dishes, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and regional American specialties). This will be measured in the interviews.

**OTHER THINGS WE NEED**:

- Able to read (and write) quickly and follow a check list
- Able to lift 35 lbs and able to stand on feet (and hustle) for long periods of time.
- Live within 25 minutes of Wayne.
- Driver's license with no more than 3 points. No DUI within the last three years.

We are the largest, off-premise office caterer in the western Philadelphia suburbs (10 full-time employees, 5 part-time, 2 managers). We also have a café that serves lunch Monday through Friday.

We specialize in fresh food with lots of color and strong flavor profiles (barbeque, salsas, soups, all kinds of salads, pasta dishes, lots of ethnic, vegetarian, and regional American specialties).

Turnover is low. In business since 1988. Strict no smoking... inside and out.

We have the best team of workers around, period. We have a great training program with opportunities in the culinary arts, marketing and business management.
