**Job Summary**:
Our Molding Operators are Customer Obsessed and strive to exceed customer expectations with every order. Molding Operators support manufacturing processes by completing the following tasks: reading and adhering to the job traveler (MFG Order) instructions and steps, inspecting parts and materials, staging orders, operating a minimum of 6 machines in either molding or extrusion processes, troubleshooting machine operations when needed, conducting preventive maintenance steps, implementing the best practices in manufacturing processes, reporting orders, participating in working safely and adhering to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Molding Operators have manufacturing expertise in organization, attention to details, time management, effective communication, reporting, and computer competencies.
**Responsibilities**:
- Efficiently operate molding and/or extrusion machines according to work instructions and operator manual.
- Inspect product to ensure quality then pack or route finished goods to ensure order accuracy and meet customer expectations.
- Performs operator-level maintenance duties on equipment as scheduled such as daily cleaning and lubricating and keeps documentation of maintenance.
- Examines product for quality including color or other defects and adjusts equipment accordingly or stops the order to consult for fix.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow Job Traveler (MFG Order) to make sure orders are created according to specifications (quality, accuracy and layout)
- May route product for usage, making sure proper routing and storage procedures are followed and ensuring that only products meeting quality standards are sent forward into the production process. Changes tooling or sets up machines to accommodate the product.
- Completes reporting and necessary daily paperwork as instructed, including production log of quantity produced, scrap and related information
- Maintains a clean and neat work area
- Actively participates in and supports teamwork and continuous process improvement.
- Demonstrates flexibility and commitment through cross training and helping other departments consistent with business needs
- Performs duties safely and in accordance with company safety policies. Follows all Safety and Quality protocols and adheres to ISO 9001; 14001; 6S standards and lean processes.
- Lifts up to 45-pound boxes frequently and team lifts at higher weights when necessary.
- Reach, bend, twist, push, pull, grasp and stand for extended periods of time. Freely move about the facility as needed for the area and the position.
- Works overtime as scheduled and/or required to meet business timelines
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor/management.
**Qualifications**:
- HS Diploma/GED or equivalent skills
- At least 18 years of age
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings
- Experience in 5S and Lean Manufacturing
- Understand basic manufacturing process
- Able to work with multiple priorities and people
- Maintain inventory storage in a clean, orderly manner
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
- Ability to professionally communicate and work with others
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, grasp and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work overtime hours including weekend hours to meet customer needs
- Strong desire to help and take ownership on seeing things through
- Curious, with a desire to always learn more, including strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently with mínimal supervision
- Effectively communicates, both written and verbally
