Direct Care Professional

**Shift Types: Monday
- Sunday**
- **1st Shift -7:00 am-3:00 pm**:

- **2nd Shift
- 3:00 pm
- 11:00 pm**

**General Responsibilities: Direct Support Technician performs the role of emotional and physical caregiver within a short term (14-90 day) residential unit. Our clients are children and adolescents who have mental health disorders as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).**

**Personal Traits: Must possess the understanding and ability to cope with emotionally impaired children, as well as the empathy needed to effectively provide services to behaviorally/emotionally challenged children that have an Autism diagnosis. Must be self-directed, responsible, and of good moral character.**

**General Responsibilities: Direct Support Technician performs the role of emotional and physical caregiver within a short term (14-30 day) residential unit. Our clients are children and adolescents who have mental health disorders as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- **Be at least 18 years old**:

- **Reliable Transportation**:

- **High School Diploma or equivalent**:

- **Driver's License (preferred)**:

- **Completion pre-employment reference check**:

- **Drug screening, TB and health screening**:

- **Background check (Central Registry Clearance)**:

- **Basic Computer knowledge**

**Experience**:

- **Care giving or related experience
- 1 Year (preferred)**:

- **ABA (preferred)**:

- **Experience with working with individuals with Autism (preferred)**:

- **Group home experience
- (preferred)**

**Work Location: Grand Rapids**

**Training that will be provided**:

- **Introduction to ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) principles and the use of behavior intervention strategies.**:

- **Complete region-specific Behavioral Safety Training (Mandt) to assist in de-escalation of aggressive behavior.**

**Specific Duties of this position**:

- **Record basic data on clients’ daily programs**:

- **Work with clients to improve independence with daily living and self-help skills such as**:

- **Cleaning the residential premises**:

- **Provide personal care assistance to individuals.**:

- **Provide general upkeep of bedrooms, hygiene areas**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
