- Minimum 5 years Managing a child care program including curriculum development, classroom and teacher management, and responsibility for regulatory compliance (required)
- Solid working knowledge of early childhood education, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance requirements (required)
- Solid inter-personal and managerial skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, challenging environment, judgment and decision-making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to resolve problems, and highly effective verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of applicable Title 5 (State of California) and Title 22 (licensing) regulations, and accreditation requirement of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) (required)
- Must test TB negative and have health screening clearance. (required)
- Passes FBI and DOJ criminal check with approval from Dept. of Social Services. (required)
- Certified in pediatric CPR and first aid (required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:

- Bachelor's Degree Child Development or in related field (required)
- Minimum of 3 units infant-toddler coursework (preferred)
- CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing - Program Director Permit (required)

Other Special Conditions of Employment:

- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
- TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
- CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
