**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will assist caseworkers, supervisors, and other agency personnel in providing services to children and families. This includes scheduling meetings and appointments, providing transportation for scheduled visits or appointments, supervising family visitation, and documenting all visits, meetings, and contacts with children and parents. You will have the opportunity to assist with other practical, supportive duties from providing homemaker services for families in need to administering random drug tests.
Effective communication is key for making assessments about child safety regarding interactions with parents and living environments, providing testimony in court hearings, and traveling with caseworkers when necessary for safety purposes. You will also assist with a variety of administrative tasks such as obtaining medical and dental records for children in placement, completing credit check requests for youth in care age 16 and above, computer data entry, and assisting the fiscal unit with phone coverage and other tasks as needed. **Work Schedule and Additional Information**:
- Full-time employment, 72.50 hours bi-weekly.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Caseworkers share on-call duties.
- Travel and work overtime on an as needed basis.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:

**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:
- Graduation from high school; **or**:
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
**Other Requirements**:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
**Legal Requirements**:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
