**Organization Summary**:
The Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has helped at-risk young adults develop themselves since 1987. To date, more than 10,000 young people have participated in CCLB classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for residents of the greater Long Beach area.

The primary mission of the Conservation Corps of Long Beach is to support young people in realizing their potential through work, service, conservation, and education.

**Position Summary**:
The Technical Construction Supervisor plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) by leveraging their expertise to drive the organization's mission forward. As the Technical Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for Landscape Construction projects and General Construction endeavors, ensuring they are executed punctually, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to both the Director of Construction Training and the Project Manager for the Landscape Construction Department, you will serve as a linchpin in achieving CCLB's goals.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Lead, mentor, and coordinate teams of young adults within a rigorous work and educational program aimed at equipping them with essential construction skills for future careers. Provide hands-on instruction as necessary, fostering the development of robust work ethics, construction proficiency, and teamwork.
- Oversee and actively participate in construction activities on-site, guiding crews of 2-5 corpsmembers through a variety of projects, including but not limited to:

- _City Parks or public works projects construction_
- _Landscape Construction endeavors_
- _Demolition tasks_
- _Site excavation and grading_
- _Installation of Landscape Irrigation Systems_
- _Vegetation and Greenery planting_
- _Concrete works (Forming, Pouring, Finishing, and Form Removal)_
- _General Construction tasks (carpentry, masonry, plumbing, metal fencing)_
- _Operation of heavy equipment_
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards at all times.
- Develop and execute construction project plans, including resource allocation and scheduling.
- Monitor project progress and communicate updates regularly to the Project Manager.
- Collaborate with Project Manager or Director to address any challenges encountered during construction.
- Conduct routine site inspections with the Project Manager or Director to uphold project specifications.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to corpsmembers, inspiring them to achieve proficiency in construction fundamentals.

**Minimum Requirements / Qualifications**:

- Strong organizational and planning skills, adept at prioritizing tasks and setting objectives.

- Proven experience in construction supervision or related field for a minimum of 5 years.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Track record of managing construction projects from inception to completion.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction plans.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive in seeking solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and garden design.
- Proficiency on Microsoft Word, Outlook E-Mail and Adobe Acrobat

**Education / Experience**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Construction Journey-level experience, including proficiency in various construction trades, like, Carpentry, Concrete, and Landscape Construction with a minimum of 10 years' experience in General Construction.
- Competency in using tools appropriate for different project requirements.
- Familiarity with construction unions and trade organizations.
- Thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures. (Safety Tailgates, PPE and Hazardous Job Site precautions)
- Ability to organize and manage crew activities to meet project deadlines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in grading, compaction, and soil materials. (Landscape Construction Oriented)
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of slope grading, ADA requirements, and relevant building codes.
