We are recruiting for our route assistant position This is a fantastic position to come on board and learn the beer business, especially if you have an interest in **_acquiring your CDL_** The Route Assistant is responsible for assisting the Route Driver in the delivery and servicing of accounts on their assigned route and assigned schedule. Route assistants will develop and maintain an outstanding working relationship with all customers.
**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Adheres to the strict safety policies and practices set in place by Brown Distributing, the account, and state and federal law
- Assists the Route Driver to ensure all BDC all worker orders are complete and products are stocked and rotated up to BDC Standards within the assigned areas of the account
- Directs the backing of route trucks to ensure the avoidance of all obstacles and ensure safe parking
- May be required to run hot-shot deliveries as needed by the delivery department
**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:
- Must have a valid class “C” Texas Driver’s License
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous work experience (preferred)
- Must be able to maintain requirements to have the required TABC licenses/permits
- Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb during long shifts: 10-15 hours
- Must be able to lift and carry 15-40 pound cases on a repetitive basis and unload draught beer, weighing up to 161 pounds.
