Kindergarten Classroom Teacher at Austin Classical School for the 2024-2025 School Year
Austin Classical School is seeking a teacher for a **Kindergarten **classroom. Grammar School teachers teach on-campus on Mondays and Wednesdays and hold virtual office hours (a 2 hour block) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

**Responsibilities**:
- Create a joyful, grace-filled environment where students enjoy learning together.
- Engage students in age-appropriate, classical instruction.
- Assess students formally and informally and reflect results in their quarterly narrative grade reports.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom, taking care of curricula and equipment belonging to ACS.
- Encourage students to uphold the school-wide READ principles with regards to classroom behavior.
- Communicate consistently, truthfully and graciously with co-teaching parents.
- Work as a team with fellow staff members; must be willing to collaborate.
- Assist in developing lesson plans as needed for both on-campus and homeschool days that meaningfully integrate across the curriculum.
- Participate in a training cohort with all first-year ACS Grammar School teachers.
- Perform other duties as directed by school administration.
**On-Campus Time Requirements**:
- Summer faculty training days will be held July 31-August 2, 2024. Informal meetings with teammates as needed in late July. Meetings with parents and students will be held the week of August 5, and teachers are required to be on campus at least two days during that week.
- On-campus instructional days are Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:40a-4p, through the calendar school year (August 12, 2024-May 21, 2025).
- Monthly faculty meetings are held one Friday of each month from 9a-12p.
- There are two parent-teacher conference dates (Oct and Feb) and a school-wide program (May).

Salary for the position ranges from $19,000-$21,000 depending upon relevant experience. Teachers are paid monthly from July through June.
