Petersen Precision Engineering is looking for a Toolroom Technician to support toolroom related tasks defined by the department manager and lead. In this position you will support production activities as they relate to tooling from troubleshooting/preventative maintenance and production floor operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Execute tooling related activities throughout the shop as directed by Toolroom Manager.
- Support in construction and repair of dies, fixtures, and all other associated parts to accommodate production requirements.
- Read blueprints, sketches, specifications, or CAD/CAM files
- Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces
- Set up, operate, and disassemble conventional and manual tools
- File, grind, and adjust parts so that they fit together properly
- Fit and assemble fine blank stamping dies
- Use precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work
- Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies

**Requirements**:

- Ability to read, write and communicate.
- Knowledge of fractions and decimals, angles and geometry as needed to calculate tool clearances, positions and size of tool features.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs.
- Ability to acquire additional skills to set up and operate tool room equipment.
- Follow all safety rules and keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Works in an environment that may be uncomfortable, dusty, and loud. Is regularly exposed to moving metal/mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, solvent, alcohol, and water-based coolant.

**Education & Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment.
- Certification in Tool & Die program preferred but not required.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
