**Role Summary**:
The Controller will oversee the operational aspects of the finance department, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. This role is critical in ensuring that ADAMS maintains accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires to be on site at the Sterling location a minimum of 3 times a week.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage daily accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, receivables, payables, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and implement financial policies to ensure financial integrity and accountability.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audit processes.
- Manage budgeting processes and provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
- Manages and leads two direct reports

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience in a non-profit organization
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
