**About the department & role purpose**:
The Scientific Data and Products (SDP) group in RX builds and applies excellence in product and data management to continuously improve the impact and value of software and data to Biomedical Research. We deliver intuitive, intentional, and integrated software solutions that create a frictionless user experience.
As an Associate Director Business Relationship Management, you promote strategic partnerships with senior leaders in BR by understanding scientific strategies and priorities and aligning on strategic informatics roadmaps. You foster the alignment between BR and RX teams, educate RX leaders and teams on scientific strategies and priorities and collaborate with RX leaders and teams to ensure quality products and services advance the strategic research priorities.
**Key Responsibilities**:
You use your knowledge of science and drug discovery and your understanding of the research informatics ecosystem and strategy to identify opportunities that advance drug discovery with informatics capabilities. You collaborate with key scientific and informatics leaders to shape those opportunities and inform decision boards. You manage expectations, monitor satisfaction levels, foster consistent RX experience, and handle escalations.
- Develop and enhance strategic relationships between senior leadership in BR Disease Areas and Scientific Platforms and RX
- Translate strategic research goals into informatics roadmaps and business cases to inform prioritization decisions.
- Actively manage expectations and monitor satisfaction levels, serving as a key point of contact and trusted advisor/business partner.
- Address research demand by capturing high level technology requirements cross-functionally and drive value-based prioritization.
- Communicate scientific and informatics strategy, decisions, priorities, and progress of initiatives and oversee resolution of escalated issues.
- Understand complex IT landscapes and relationships.

**Role Requirements**:
**What You’ll Bring to the Role**:

- Advanced degree in biology, chemistry or a related field, or equivalent scientific education.
- Broad understanding of drug discovery, ideally familiar with biologics / biotherapeutics discovery.
- Advanced informatics or IT experience, ideally with a good understanding of complex research informatics ecosystems in a biomedical research environment.
- Ideally experience in a strategic, customer facing role such as business development, account management or other relevant experience.
- Ability to influence others without direct authority, leading change, managing conflict constructively and holding others accountable.

**Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary**:The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249,600 year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full
