**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor to join our team at Shoes4Grades. As a Youth Mentor, you will work with children and adolescents in foster care, providing guidance, support, and positive role modeling. Your role will be instrumental in empowering and inspiring young individuals to reach their full potential, while also supporting their educational and personal development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build strong relationships with youth in foster care and establish a trusting rapport
- Provide mentorship and guidance to help youth navigate challenges and make positive life choices
- Assist in developing and implementing educational and recreational activities to engage mentees
- Support youth in developing essential life skills, including communication, problem-solving, and decision-making
- Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of mentees
- Monitor and assess the progress of each mentee, documenting observations and maintaining accurate records
- Address behavioral issues using conflict management techniques
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work with at least three youth mentees
- Availability to meet with each youth at least once a week for a minimum of one hour
- Preferably able to meet in person, though virtual sessions may be considered
- Experience working with youth who may have behavioral issues or challenging backgrounds
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to undergo and pass background screening
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to making a positive impact on young lives

**Training and Support**:

- Comprehensive training will be provided once hired and background screening is completed
- Ongoing support to ensure your success as a mentor
