**General Responsibilities**: As a Purchasing Clerk for our commercial flooring provider and installation company, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring that all necessary materials and supplies are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will work closely with vendors, internal teams, and management to maintain optimal inventory levels, negotiate favorable terms, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations.

**Significant Duties**:

- Vendor Management:

- Identify and evaluate potential vendors for commercial flooring materials.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Order Processing:

- Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure that all orders are placed in accordance with project timelines and specifications.
- Monitor order status and address any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
- Inventory Control:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and excesses.
- Collaborate with warehouse and project teams to optimize inventory turnover.
- Cost Management:

- Seek opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Compare prices and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Analyze and report on purchasing trends to management.
- Quality Assurance:

- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials meet established standards.
- Address any quality issues promptly and work with vendors to resolve them.
- Documentation:

- Maintain organized and accurate records of all purchasing activities.
- Prepare and submit reports on purchasing and inventory activities as required.
- Communication:

- Liaise with internal teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and track order status.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a purchasing clerk or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with commercial flooring materials and installation processes is advantageous.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficient in using purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
