**QHSSE MANAGER**

Intertek is searching for an QHSSE to join our Exploration and Production team in our Westport office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the Exploration and Production field.

The QHSSE is responsible for:

- Implement the QHSSE strategy for Westport Technology Center
- Act as the point of contact for Site Safety Coordinators in assigned locations on QHSE matters.
- Identify appropriate QHSSE improvements to drive continuous improvement within the business.
- Provide input on administrative and policy aspects of the QHSE Program.
- Responsible for ensuring that management teams properly implement QHSE policies.
- Monitor and participate in internal and external audits of QHSE programs.
- Provide QHSE advice and support those within area of responsibility.
- Lead and participate in QHSE related meetings.
- Ensure adherence to company QHSE policy and monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting.
- Provide safety related training.
- Investigate work-related injuries, near miss events, and provide recommendation(s) for prevention.
- Work with the Human Resources Department to address corrective action for post-accident incidents.
- Ensure ISO, Permits and other regulatory certificates are up to date and posted appropriately in the building.
- Ensure correct and up to date BU, QHSE, and Labor information are correctly posted in the facility.
- Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion. Perform other work as required.

**What it takes to be successful in this role**:

- Four Year College Degree Is required, with a preference in Science or Quality, Health and Safety Management
- 8 + years’ experience leading safety programs is required
- 5+ years’ experience in an industry related to Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, or Laboratory Testing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to efficiently manage projects and large volumes of work.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with others in a team-based environment and maintain a high degree of credibility.
- Other essential requirement/qualification.
