**Summary of Position**:
The Forklift Operator will support the operations teams by moving supplies and product where needed to maximize efficiency in the Greenhouse or Packhouse.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:

- Transport product and supplies from one location to another using area’s assigned forklift
- Follow all safety protocols while operating forklift
- Support the greenhouse or packhouse operations as needed
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Follow quality, food safety and service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
- Participate in any required company trainings, including safety, forklift, and food safety
- Notify maintenance team if any repairs or forklift maintenance is needed

**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**:

- Able to stand, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time
- Ability to always pay attention and be aware of one’s surroundings while operating a vehicle
- Knowledge of forklift safety rules

**Education and Experience**:

- Current forklift certification or current forklift certification from recent Fortune 500 employer; must complete internal forklift safety training upon being hired
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

**Supervisory**:

- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

**Work Environment**:
Greenhouse, 50%
- The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside
- Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
- PPE must be worn at all times

Packhouse, 50%
- The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality
- PPE must be worn at all times

**Physical Requirements**:

- Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
- Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
