Platemaker

Summary:
The Chicago Tribune, subsidiary of Tribune Publishing, is seeking a Platemaker to join our team As a Platemaker, you'll create and supply printing plates for our press department. You'll use advanced computer skills for plate production and page planning, set up pages according to specifications, and ensure a clean work environment. Physical tasks include lifting plates, maintaining equipment, and moving materials. Effective communication with other teams is essential for smooth production.

What you will do:
- Produce printing plates and plan page layouts using computer software- Set up 4-color and black & white pages as per design specifications- Interpret press layout instructions accurately for plate positioning- Maintain cleanliness in your work area and assist with equipment cleaning- Transport plates between storage areas using a hand jack- Collaborate with other production teams to ensure efficient operations
