Primary Responsibilities:

- Manage multi-line phones, directing callers appropriately or addressing their needs directly;
- Welcome patients upon arrival, assist with sign-in procedures, and collect insurance information and other pertinent data;
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain referrals (at least one day in advance), and authorizations (if required), assist with claims processing;
- Process payments from patients for office visits, laboratory services, and diagnostic tests;
- Perform check-in and check-out procedures for patients as required;
- Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physicians availability;
- Place reminder calls to patients regarding upcoming appointments and assist with scheduling off-site testing services;
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

- Proficiency in insurance verification procedures;
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology (preferably with Medical Assistant certification);
- Familiarity with ECWs is advantageous;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

Education and experience required:

- Preferred Medical Assistant Certificate;
- High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred);
- Minimum of one year of experience in medical assisting or administration, with experience in a cardiologist's office being advantageous.

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
