Assistant Controller

The **Assistant Controller** role is an onsite position.

**Assistant Controller General Responsibilities**:

- Month-end close and other accounting activities
- General accounting such as fixed assets, pre-paid, accruals
- Various financial analysis
- Account Reconciliations and journal entries
- General Ledger processing
- Chart of Accounts Maintenance
- Assist with annual review process and interaction with the external auditors
- Assist with budgets/forecasting and annual planning processes
- Regular communication and interaction with all levels of management regarding financial matters
- Process improvement and automation
- Other accounting/finance duties as assigned

**Assistant Controller Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
- 5+ years general accounting experience required
- Experience in a supervisory/management position an asset
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers, and accounting
- Advanced excel skills
- Experience with accounting process automation
- Very strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work on site in Buchanan MI 5 days per week
- Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and precision with numbers
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Ability to work with, and maintain, strong confidentiality
- Ability to foster good employee/management relations, and build a strong team effort to fulfill customers’ expectations

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
