Sourcing Specialist

**SUMMARY**

The Sourcing Specialist I is responsible for planning and purchasing raw materials and will ensure that procurement activities are aligned with product demand needs. The activities involve, meticulous planning through cross-functional interactions, developing suppliers with a focus on optimizing value and dependability, and seamless flow of biomaterials from suppliers to inventory.

This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, State Departments of Health, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EMEA and FDA Guidelines, general State and Country Regulations such as but not limited to (CLIA, CAP, USP, ISO 9001, USDA regulations, HTA license, DEA and State Controlled Substance programs) where site appropriate.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Collaborate closely with the Customer Experience and Planning teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of customer demands, and effectively liaise with suppliers to guarantee the punctual and precise availability of biomaterials and products. Foster and sustain robust partnerships with suppliers to enable seamless communication and collaboration, ensuring a foundation for effective and efficient working relationships.

Assist with initiatives to discern and implement process enhancements, strategically focused on mitigating backorders and elevating the overarching operational efficiency. Engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams to refine workflows and elevate the procurement process to new levels of efficiency.

Furnish clients with precise and dependable costs as well as timelines pertaining to product availability and delivery, ensuring transparency and reliability in communication. Anticipate and preemptively manage potential delays, demonstrating proactive communication skills with all stakeholders to maintain transparency and address challenges effectively.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education and/or Experience
- High school graduate or experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office
- Ability to work in a team laboratory environment with knowledge or familiarity with scientific terminology.
- Excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in professional office environment using standard office equipment.

A full-time Monday through Friday workweek with general business hours and flexibility to occasionally work additional hours as needed and approved by management.
