Inventory Control Team Leader

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Department: Inventory Control

Position Summary

Core

**Responsibilities**:

- Disperse standard work assignments provided by the IC Administrator and/or Leadership to direct reports to support inventory control programs along with promoting 5S and safety objectives
- Work closely with Inventory Control Administrator to ensure cycle count program process is followed to the highest level of quality and completion daily
- Work with Leadership to establish goals for the team and work to continually improve metrics related to accuracy and program completeness
- Set a tone for work quality, accountability, and efficiency within the team; understand quality issues affecting processes and respond appropriately to decrease quality issues
- Cross-train team members in various receiving, put-away, and warehousing activities as well as inventory control functions to ensure all team members can effective conduct root cause analysis
- Develop partnerships with production, planning, procurement, finance and other internal team members; work to support mutual goals and add value to those functions
- Always adhere to safety standards, while enforcing safe work habits with all team members; this includes all OSHA regulations and facility safety guidelines
- Assist in performance management activities including preparation of performance evaluations, recognition efforts for strong performing team members, and assistance with disciplinary matters as necessary by partnering with supervisor and HR
- Active participant in yearly physical inventory support, including preparation, execution and wrap up
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- High school diploma required; associates or vocational degree preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience within a warehouse/logistics/inventory control function; preferably as part of a warehouse environment
- Supervisory experience with a successful track record of leading a team
- Strong leadership skills including daily communications with the team and with internal customers
- Excellent understanding of inventory control methodology, material movements, storage techniques, pick processes, and use of systems and databases to manage materials
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a must; Avante experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels
- Uncompromising dedication to quality
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
- Flexibility to travel between sites as necessary
